NBCC (India) Limited, formerly known as National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd., is a blue-chip Government of India Navratna Enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Listed with both the Stock Exchanges, the companys unique business model has today, made it stand out as a leader in its own right in the construction sector with more than INR 36000 Crore Order Book in hand till March 2016 and countingCertified with ISO 9001:2008 from the Bureau of Indian Standards in respect of Project Management & Consultancy, the Companys present areas of operations are categorized into three main segments, i.e.
(i) Project Management Consultancy (PMC),
(ii) Real Estate Development
(iii) EPC Contracting.
NBCC has been executing many Landmark Projects as a PMC which contributes to about 85% of its annual revenue. The segment being the Company’s core strength, the areas covered under its umbrella include Roads, Hospitals & Medical Colleges, Institutions, Offices, Airports, Bridges, Industrial & Environmental Structures etc.
The present Real Estate Business of the Company could be distinctively viewed falling in two categories based on Source of Origin of the Projects i.e. one is Internally Originated & Conceptualised projects wherein the Company buys land from private and government agencies alike, develops the land and sells it off; while others are Sourced from Government wherein, NBCC carries out re-development of Government properties on a model i.e. self sustaining andoes not call for any Government Funding.
NBCC has been operating in Infrastructure Segment as well called EPC, wherein it has been executing projects such as Chimneys, Cooling Towers, and various types of Power Plant Works.
The Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (HUDCO) was established and incorporated on 25th April, 1970 as a fully owned enterprise of the Government of India under the Companies Act 1956. It was set up with the social motto of ‘Profitability with Social Justice’ and it has been serving the ‘un-served’ and thus bridging the ‘housing divide’ in the country. HUDCO has been facilitating the housing & infrastructure development in the country with a special thrust on meeting the housing needs of the ‘deprived’ i.e. Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Low-Income Groups (LIG). HUDCO also addresses the rural housing shortage by lending for rural housing.
Apart from the financing operations, HUDCO offers design and consultancy services in Consultancy in the field of Architecture, Urban Design, Landscape, Urban and Regional Planning, Transportation Planning and Infrastructure development.
HUDCO plays a key role in various flagship programmes of the government to develop the Indian housing and urban infrastructure sectors, such as PMAY-Housing for All (Urban) under which HUDCO has been appointed as an appraisal agency for the three components, i.e. in-situ slum redevelopment (using land as a resource), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) and Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) projects. HUDCO has also been designated as one of the Central Nodal Agencies (CNA) under CLSS, which is a component of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-Urban) to channelize the subsidy.
Under the disinvestment programme of Government of India, 10.193% of equity shareholding of Government of India has been disinvested through Initial Public Offer (IPO).
Hindustan Prefab Limited (HPL), a profit making and an ISO 9001:2008 Company, is a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. It is a brain child of our first visionary Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru with the prime objective of providing prefab houses to the people who were displaced from Pakistan. HPL in its earlier avatar as Hindustan Housing Factory Ltd. (HHF) was established in 1948 by the Government of India as Department and incorporated as CPSE in 1955. It was renamed as Hindustan Prefab Limited (HPL) in 1978. HPL has its Corporate Office at Jangpura, New Delhi and operates across seventeen States through its Five Regional Offices, three Sub-Regional Officers and an Overseas office in Killinochhi (Sri Lanka). HPL undertakes project on turnkey basis from concept to completion and assures for quality & timely completion. The work entrusted to HPL is executed by utilizing prefab/partial prefab / conventional technology and of Fast Track Technologies.
