With the merger of erstwhile Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation and Ministry of Urban Development in one Ministry i.e Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Both Demands have been merged into one Demand for Grants for Financial Year 2019-20.

Budget Section is responsible for the preparation and printing of Detailed Demands for Grants and Outcome Budget of the Ministry and laying of these documents on the Tables of both the Houses of Parliament.Apart from this,the Section attends work relating to Public Accounts Committee(PAC),Audit paragraphs and Parliamentary Standing Committee. The Section functions under the direct control of the Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser.
